Special Districts that serve the Town of Ridgway and/or the County of Ouray:

 

Ridgway Volunteer Fire Department--

The Ridgway Volunteer Fire Department provides fire reponse to the Town of Ridgway and Ridgway region within a response area containing approximately 74 square miles.The Department is staffed by 21 volunteers headed by Chief Dan Bartashius. Annual fundraisers include the Labor Day Dance, and Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction during the August Arts and Crafts Festival. Contact: (970) 626-5311.

 

Library District--

Ridgway R2 School District--

Ridgway School serves elementary, middle school, and high school students. School Office: (970) 626-5468 | R2 School District WebsiteVoyager Youth Program is offered after school at the Ridgway School and during the summer. Voyager Website.

 

Emergency Medical Services--

Ouray County Emergency Medical Services (OCEMS) provides ambulance and emergency service at no cost to members. OCEMS is staffed by volunteers. For membership or volunteer information contact Director Norm Rooker at (970) 325-7275. OCEMS annual fundraiser is the spaghetti dinner for the Imogene Pass Run.
